What is Executive Functioning?

Executive functioning is a set of skills that contribute a person’s ability to:

• Maintain focus
• Ability to multi-task
• Memory recollection
• Confidence in high-stress situations
• Planning and organization

As you can see the above list casts a wide net into a variety of different skillsets. An executive functioning coach not only assists with the devevlopment of these skills, but aslo the mastery of them. These skills are essential for student success whether the student is beginning primary education or a college student looking to improve organization.

While a lack in any of these skills isn’t necessarily an inidcation of a person’s intellectual ability, it can drastically impact academic performance. This can stifle future success if not addressed.

A Coach’s Job

A person isn’t born with the natural ability of executive functioning. These skills need to be developed and worked on to see improvement in the above areas. An academic coach such as Mrs. Knowles will go above and beyond to work with the student in developing these core skills. Using techniques and lessons developed over the years, Mrs. Knowles has crafted a strategy that sees success with student’s who want to improve in these areas.

Development and Environment

A personalized envrionment is necessary to see any long-term development of executive functioning. With our one-to-one approach with learning, we’ve found it drasstically improves a student’s experience inside and outside of the classroom. All of our teachers are experience, one-to-one, private school teachers. We pride ourselves on our ability of academic improvement in the classroom, and with TenneyTutors you’re able to get that private school treatment through tutoring sessions in the comfort of your own home!

All of our sessions are remote based, which means our students are provided with meeting details to meet with their teachers via TEAMs. We’ve built this program to be as modular as possible as to offer families the most flexibility possible. We’d love to have you and we can’t wait to get started!
